What is a Home Theater?
A home theater can consist of a surround
sound system in your living room all the way up to a fully
dedicated theater in the home. There is
nothing like being able to relax in your own home theater and
enjoy the movies you love with the while enjoying them in the
best possible format. An awesome picture and incredible
sound will bring your theater experience alive in a way you
haven't imagined. Most theater systems
consist of a monitor or TV and are accompanied by a 5.1 or 7.1
surround sound system. The 5.1 systems have 5 speakers and
a subwoofer (one center channel, a left and right front, and a
left and right rear or side setup). Most movies are still
produced in 5.1 format, but 7.1 surround sound movies are
becoming more popular. The 7.1 surround sound setup is the
same as 5.1 but includes two side speakers and two rear
speakers. Today's home theaters are merged
with home automation that can include lighting control, climate
control and wall mounted keypads. Imagine
hitting the "Movie" button on the wall and having the lights
dim, the curtains close, and the home theater fire up and
display the cover art for all of the DVD's in your changer that
you can scroll or search through and then start up by clicking
on your selection. It's easy and it's inexpensive.
